In defense of midwives

Homeschool Moms support Midwives and homebirths

Once upon a time, homeschooling was illegal. Yet brave men and women, convinced that teaching their children at home was a God-given right, did so anyway. They faced down fears, misunderstandings, and even jail time to practice what we take for granted today. I remember as a child going with my family to the Capitol building in Raleigh, NC in support of making homeschooling legal. We visited with legislators, presented our petitions encouraging them to pass laws legalizing homeschooling, and then watched as the sessions got underway. Eventually, the measures passed, and today we enjoy the privilege of educating our children at home without fear of recrimination.

However, the same cannot be said for NC midwives.
